Chief Executive Officer's Statement and Outlook
"In the third quarter, we reported record total net sales of €11.7 billion, near the upper end of our guidance range, reflecting strong execution in ramping up production capacity. Driven by continued robust demand for productivity upgrades, installed-base management sales exceeded guidance, reaching €3.3 billion. This helped lift gross margin to 57.5%, above our target."
"Customers continue to revise upward their short- and medium-term equipment demand forecasts shared with us, primarily driven by their assessments of the scale and duration of AI-related investments. Given the heightened visibility into demand, some customers have expressed interest in placing orders for equipment spanning 2029 and even 2030."
"Since the beginning of this year, demand visibility has been exceptionally strong, and order‑book momentum has strengthened quarter over quarter. We now anticipate that, under our current plans, both 2027 and 2028 supply will fall short of fully meeting customer demand. Accordingly, we are evaluating ways to further expand capacity in 2028, beyond the previously communicated 30% increase. In addition, we will continue to enhance our product mix through productivity improvements, ensuring ample wafer capacity for our customers."
"We expect total net sales in the fourth quarter of 2026 to be between €14.2 billion and €15.2 billion, with a gross margin of approximately 57%. We anticipate R&D expenses of around €1.2 billion and selling, general, and administrative expenses of about €400 million. We also project total net sales for 2026 to range from €44 billion to €45 billion, with a gross margin of roughly 56%," said ASML Holding President and CEO Christophe Fouquet.
