In July 2026, the national consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.5% year-on-year. Specifically, prices in urban areas rose by 0.5%, while those in rural areas increased by 0.4%; food prices declined by 1.5%, whereas non-food prices rose by 0.9%; prices of consumer goods increased by 0.2%, and service prices rose by 0.7%. On average from January to July, the national CPI was up by 0.9% compared with the same period of the previous year.
In July, the national consumer price index (CPI) decreased by 0.1% month-on-month. Specifically, prices in urban areas fell by 0.1%, while those in rural areas declined by 0.2%; food prices remained unchanged, and non-food prices dropped by 0.1%; prices of consumer goods fell by 0.6%, while service prices rose by 0.4%.

I. Year-on-Year Changes in Prices of Various Goods and Services
In July, prices of food, tobacco, alcohol, and catering services outside the home decreased by 0.8% year-on-year, contributing to a decline of approximately 0.22 percentage points in the CPI (Consumer Price Index). Within food categories, meat prices fell by 6.0% year-on-year, reducing the CPI by about 0.25 percentage points, with pork prices down by 13.3%; dairy product prices declined by 1.5%, lowering the CPI by around 0.02 percentage points; fresh fruit prices dropped by 1.1%, subtracting approximately 0.02 percentage points from the CPI; egg prices rose by 14.4%, adding about 0.07 percentage points to the CPI.
Among the other seven major categories, six recorded year-on-year increases while one declined. Specifically, prices for miscellaneous goods and services and medical care rose by 5.8% and 2.9%, respectively; clothing and education, culture, and recreation prices increased by 1.4% and 1.3%, respectively; household goods and services and transportation and communication prices rose by 0.8% and 0.4%, respectively; housing prices declined by 0.3%.

II. Month-on-Month Changes in Prices of Various Goods and Services
In July, prices of food, tobacco, alcohol, and catering services outside the home remained unchanged month-on-month. Within food categories, meat prices rose by 1.9%, contributing approximately 0.07 percentage points to the CPI increase, with pork prices up by 4.1%; fresh vegetable prices increased by 1.3%, adding about 0.02 percentage points to the CPI; fresh fruit prices declined by 3.8%, reducing the CPI by approximately 0.07 percentage points; egg prices fell by 1.7%, subtracting around 0.01 percentage points from the CPI.
Among the other seven major categories, three rose, two remained flat, and two declined month-on-month. Specifically, prices for education, culture, and recreation; medical care; and household goods and services increased by 1.0%, 0.8%, and 0.4%, respectively; housing and miscellaneous goods and services prices were unchanged; transportation and communication and clothing prices declined by 2.2% and 0.4%, respectively.
