AI Capital Expenditure and Energy Bottlenecks
The dominance of the artificial intelligence capital expenditure cycle in the market cannot be ignored. However, if the energy demands of data centers exceed supply, AI-related investments may face obstacles.
The bank noted in its report, "We believe investors may be underestimating the challenges associated with providing high-quality power to data centers."
For this reason, the field of energy infrastructure construction may become the next noteworthy investment opportunity in the artificial intelligence sector.
Longevity Economy
Morgan Stanley pointed out that the extension of human working life and lifespan could become a trend driving economic growth.
The report states: 'As the population aged 60 and above controls one-third of global consumer spending, the longevity economy is creating a vast and underappreciated market opportunity.'
The bank added that the elderly are becoming increasingly tech-savvy and increasing their consumption of lifestyle products. 'Keeping older adults engaged in the labor market and consumer economy can help mitigate growth pressures from collective retirement, while technology is narrowing the gap between lifespan and healthy lifespan, reshaping perceptions of aging's impact on productivity and consumption.'
Tokenized Finance
Morgan Stanley pointed out that tokenization technology—digitizing asset trading through blockchain—has the potential to 'modernize the plumbing and infrastructure of the financial system.'
The bank wrote in the report, 'Tokenization enables ownership of virtually any asset to be recorded on a digital ledger verifiable by participants. We see multiple institutions exploring this space: asset management firms launching crypto funds via blockchain, while some alternative asset managers experiment with issuing private funds on blockchain. Though still in its early stages, this could further democratize access to private markets and expand lending use cases.'
Currently, tokenization has entered the stock market, and cryptocurrency proponents believe it will revolutionize ownership structures across various asset classes, from real estate to commodities.
Brain-Computer Interfaces
Although brain implant technology remains in its infancy, the industry is expected to grow into a multi-billion-dollar sector.
Morgan Stanley noted in the report, 'Strong patient demand is evident, as exemplified by Neuralink’s approximately 10,000-person waiting list. The ultimate success of the technology will lie in improving the lives of hundreds of thousands through safe, scalable, and wireless implant systems.'
