SpaceXAI has officially launched its AI agent product, Grok Bot, co-developed with Cursor, which is currently in an early testing phase. Grok Bot functions like a digital employee, positioned as an 'always-on AI teammate.' On August 11, SpaceXAI released its AI agent product, Grok Bot, which is currently in early testing. This marks the latest move by Musk’s AI venture to catch up with Anthropic and OpenAI, as well as a milestone achievement from SpaceXAI’s deep collaboration with Cursor.
Musk immediately stated on X: “We will expand the testing scale of Grok Bot after fixing basic issues identified during early testing and releasing Grok 4.6 later this week.”
What Is Grok Bot: Like Hiring a Team That Never Clocks Out
Grok Bot is fundamentally positioned as an “always-on AI teammate.”
Unlike most AI tools on the market, Grok Bot operates on its own dedicated cloud computer. It can directly log into the user’s existing tools and applications—including platforms without API access—and perform tasks just like a human would, only reporting back once the assignment is complete.
According to SpaceXAI’s official website, its capabilities are described as follows:
Bots have their own computers. They log into the tools you already use and work across applications, inboxes, and other contexts. They complete tasks end-to-end and only return to you when your approval is required.
Users can assign tasks to a Bot just as they would message a colleague. The Bot remembers conversations, learns the user’s work habits, and becomes increasingly precise over time.
Multiple Bots can operate in parallel, passing tasks between each other and sharing context—eliminating the need for the user to act as an intermediary. SpaceXAI likens this model to “a small team,” with a “lead Bot” coordinating specialized Bots that handle inbox management, expense reimbursement, recruitment, bug fixes, and more.
According to Bloomberg, the launch of Grok Bot marks SpaceXAI’s accelerated expansion into the rapidly growing AI agent market. Earlier this year, in May, SpaceXAI had already introduced its first programming agent and released the Grok 4.5 model built on Cursor.

Grok Bot was not launched from scratch; it was first deployed extensively within SpaceXAI before being made available externally.

Finance team: Extracts receipts from Gmail and automatically archives expense reports.

According to The Information, the product was previously tested internally at Cursor under the codename "Sand" and began internal testing in late June.
